Both Parties are anxiously awaiting next weeks Congressional Hearing and Special Counsel Mueller’s testimony. Each Party expects to be vindicated in their own way. Democrats expect Mueller to give them the dirt they need to finally move forward with Impeachment. Republicans expect he will be tight lipped and not say more than what is in The Special Counsel Report. What can we really expect?

I expect Mueller to continue to try to show he is the righteous defender of justice he has always considered himself to be. But he is not righteous, he is self-righteous. He believes he is the supreme authority on what is justice, right and wrong. He is going to be the cowardly person he has shown himself to be throughout the investigation into the Trump organization and Russian election meddling.

I expect him to come out and say something along the lines of, “while we could find no cooperation or collaboration of any members of the Trump team or staff in the meddling of the Russians in our elections, that does not mean that there was no wrongdoing.” Once again fueling the flames of the Democrats desire to find some way to impeach the President. He and the rest of the Democrats are firm believers of, “where there is smoke there must be fire.” With regard to the obstruction allegations, he will likely continue to put forward his and the Democrats position that many of the President’s actions could be viewed as obstruction. Again fanning the flames of impeachment.

Republicans can expect to be disappointed with his testimony. They will be given the opportunity to put forward their own questions, such as, “when did you conclude there was no collaboration by the Trump team with the Russians?” His response will likely be that it was shortly before the report was finalized, a total falsehood. But how can Congress call him a liar if he makes such an irrational statement? In the absence of prima facia evidence to the contrary, they cannot. I doubt there are any questions they can put to him that will embarrass him. With regard to obstruction, they can ask, “why did you not reach a concrete decision as to obstruction?” His response will be the same as in the Report, “DOJ Rules prevented him from indicting a sitting President and therefore it made no sense to reach any conclusion but made total sense to leave it to Congress?” Once more fanning the flames of impeachment.

If you believe something earth shattering will come out of the hearing, you are sadly mistaken. It will be another spectacle, a circus, with each side going after the other. Why? Because neither side is interested in finding answers or performing their legislative duty. They are only interested in grandstanding. This is why we need to vote them all out of office, in particular any one who has been in Washington for more that 12 years.
