We have all seen the optical illusions of the Old Hag or the Young Lady and the Face or the Vase. Sometimes it takes a while for our eyes to adjust and see the alternate image but even if it has to be pointed out to us, once we see, our mind can easily switch from one to the other. When it comes to the current impeachment proceedings being carried out by Democrats in the House, the Democrats and the Media are suffering Mental Illusions. The difference, their mind is unable to transition from impeachable offense to innocuous conversations and events. They are only able to see Impeachable Offenses in everything the President does and says.
President Trump asked for a favor, investigation of interference in the 2016 election and the Crowdstrike report of the DNC server. He made a request for an investigation into Vice President Biden and his son, Hunter’s appointment to a corrupt company’s board of directors. These requests or favors were based on evidence and statements previously in the news. 1) While there has been much said about Russia’s involvement in attempts to sway the minds of Americans in the 2016 election, little has been said about the DNC’s efforts to have Ukraine provide information damaging to then Candidate Trump as reported by Politico. 2) Former Vice President Biden has bragged about denying Ukraine $1 billion in aid if they did not fire a prosecutor who had and was looking into Burisma and the owner. Burisma being a company where Hunter Biden sat on the board of directors.
While Biden did not specifically state the prosecutor responsible for investigating Burisma, the prosecutor he did name was, in fact, responsible for the effort. Democrats and the media see no impropriety here. They see no impropriety when it is pointed out Hunter Biden was being paid $50,000 a month despite having no knowledge in the field of gas exploration, extraction or refining. He had no knowledge of Ukrainian laws governing these activities, no experience in these activities and does not speak Ukrainian. I am not so naïve as to believe companies do not hire some directors because of the influence they may have or the professional network they have developed. Hunter Biden’s claim in this area was being the son of the Vice President of the United States.
No single witness has come forward saying President Trump specifically stated or conveyed in any specific language directly himself or by any of his subordinates, “there will be no military aid unless investigations are made into these matters.” Yet the Democrats claim that is the case. They also claim it was an attempt to have a foreign nation assist him in his campaign against Joe Biden because Joe Biden appears to be the frontrunner and polls indicate he would beat President Trump. This despite there being no request for that kind of assistance. In the minds of Democrats and the Media, that is implied. In 2016 polls also indicated Hillary would easily defeat Trump, but who is the President? Perhaps that is the real issue here. Hillary was a shoein but she lost so Trump must have used some dirty tactics, Russians in this case.
Neither am I so naive as to believe Russia was the sole country or entity trying to influence the outcome of the 2016 election. It is highly probable China, North Korea, Saudi Arabia, and any number of other countries wanted a particular outcome and were working to that end. Yet this appears to be exactly what the Democrats and the Media see. Russia was the only country attempting to influence the election in their minds. They are unable to see, even when it is pointed out to them, there is a completely different view which is held by many Americans.
