Once again it is clear not enough has been done to drain the swamp in Washington. As the Presidents defense team begins to layout the evidence against impeachment, the Deep State finds someone to leak information in their efforts to sway the public. There is no end to which they will not go to ensure the President is taken down. And they call themselves patriots.
The roots of this endeavor can be traced back to the Obama Administration. During Obama’s first year in office he increased the Federal Employment roles significantly. And not with low pay positions. In the Transportation Department alone the number of employees making over $150k increased from under 200 to well over a 1000. The argument being made was these individuals were not being compensated at the same rate as their counterparts in the private sector. A false argument to begin with, their hourly wage or salary may have been lower but when you take into account complete compensation packages they were already being paid more than the private sector.
And why should they be paid the same? Those working in the private sector are producing revenue for their employers. Revenue that ultimately benefits us all. While those in Federal Employ are not producing revenue but are just cogs in the wheels of bureaucracy.
Now we find ourselves with a bureaucracy, not of individuals who are doing their job, but with partisans intent on ensuring their party wields all power in Washington. I try my best to refrain from thinking what the Deep State, this polluted swamp, will do to our democracy and the struggles our children and grandchildren will be forced to endure. No doubt the Democrats will continue to call ours a democracy but it will be a totalitarian regime none the less. Theirs will be the only party to control both houses of Congress and the Office of the President. They will be in a position to change the Election Process to ensure this end. They will dictate choices in all aspects of our lives, from health care to education, to careers. When they need more people to work to promote their agenda they will simply force you out of your current job, saying it is no longer relevant and putting you to work where they decide.
This is their ultimate agenda, Total Control. You may be saying at this point this could never happen. If they achieve their objective of removing the President from office, this outcome is not far away. Even if they do not remove him from office but simply preclude him from running for office in the future, meaning the 2020 election. This outcome is not far away. In either scenario, Conservatives would not be able to mobilize in time to find a new candidate and gain the needed coverage to defeat any candidate put forward by the Democrats. Exactly they outcome they are seeking.
I would urge everyone who has any understanding of our Democracy and its fragility, particularly at this point in time, be you Republican, Democrat, Independent or any other political view, to communicate to your Senators the importance of allowing us, the American people to decide the fate of our President. Ask them to put an end to the sham of an impeachment trial they have been dragging us through for the past three years. If not for yourself, for your posterity.
