Fox News has now followed in the footsteps of other media outlets publishing a headline reading
"Mutated form of coronavirus may be more contagious, but less deadly, experts say".
If you read the article it goes on to say the mutated strain was first discovered in February and is the predominant strain in the United States. Why then, seven months later, scientists and health officials are still in the dark as to whether it is more infectious or deathly? It seems there is no news outlet unwilling to question the presumed experts on their own data.
Over the last 48 hours, I have seen dozens of news articles pop-up concerning a new variant of COVID-19, D614G,—all questioning whether this new variant might be more lethal or transmissible. The only problem is this is not new news. I remember seeing something about this back in April. So I did some digging, and sure enough, here is what I found. A paper was published by the Scripps Institute on 11 June 2020 outlining this particular variant of COVID-19 or SARS-COV-2, as most scientists call it. In reading the article, it states the data was collected from samples of the virus as early as January. Clearly, this is not a new discovery but a way for the media to instill continued fear in the public. They dug up an old story and decided they could use it to push their fear agenda. As soon as one media outlet published, they all followed suit. Or perhaps it was a coordinated effort. We will probably never know.

The D614G variant was recently found in Malaysia. This appears to be the root of the recent stories. The media are stoking the fires of fear. They fail to tell us this variant has been prevalent in Europe and North America almost from the onset of the COVID-19 crisis. So old news becomes new news.

It is this pernicious reporting by supposed journalists and reporters, pundits and politicians the has me so disturbed. Why are they hell bent on bringing down society as we know it? They lie at every opportunity, or at the very least do not tell the truth. Do they think the rest of the world is ignorant? That we are incapable of Critical Thinking? Whatever their motivations I am sick of it.
