There has been a lot of discussion in the media in recent weeks regarding the origins of the SARS-COV-2 virus. Much of that conversation has been about the initial lack of acceptance of the virus having some laboratory origin and related push back. Science, medical, and intelligence communities insisted it was naturally occurring (zootic), passed from a bat to some other animal to humans. Despite no evidence to support this theory and only circumstantial evidence to support the lab theory. As I stated in my previous post, Does it really matter? Under either scenario, the damage is done and the only important question left is, How do we prevent a future occurrence?

No one seems to focus on this question, just as few have concentrated on many questions relating to China. In 1972, President Nixon began the normalization of relations with China, welcoming them into the world fold. However, since then, China has continuously abused its relationship, not just with the United States but also with most countries. They have violated copyright law, trademark law, patent law claiming as their own all manner of technology. They are constantly reverse engineering products, not to find out how they operate but to manufacture an exact copy of the product. They do this out in the open with no intent to hide what they are doing, and the world looks the other way.

They buy up vast volumes of natural resources and stockpile them to be in a position to control the price on the open market later. Then, they go into underdeveloped countries, buy undeveloped resources, or provide low/no-cost loans to get a foothold in the country. These countries become obligated to China and cannot fight back when China tells them what to do or how to act on the World stage.

They turn around and sell resources and products lower than cost, dumping items to control the market, thereby driving many companies and corporations out of business so they may step in and buy up those companies.

My work, before I retired, took me to China and gave me insight into how they operate. For example, we put out a request for bids for a large piece of equipment on one project. A Chinese company bid for the supply of the equipment, while a second bidder was a sizeable Scandinavian company. When the Scandinavian company discovered the Chinese firm was bidding, they protested, stating the Chinese company did not have the expertise and was bidding based on documents and designs produced by the Scandinavian company for a previous project. On the previous project, the Scandinavians had used the Chinese firm to manufacture the same product. The Chinese firm was being sued for now offering to sell this product under their own name.

Another case occurred when I worked in Mongolia, the country, not Inner Mongolia, a region of China. Mongolia did not have companies with the required capabilities, and we requested bids from several Chinese companies. Of the six or seven companies we had invited to bid, only three submitted proposals. All three were government-owned. From prior experience, we knew this was common when dealing with Chinese contractors. The Government allows three or four companies to submit proposals, but the Government decides the low bid beforehand.

The United States is fully aware of these deceptive practices by the Chinese Government yet has never taken any serious action against them. Only under the United States' previous administration was any action undertaken, and those actions were constantly criticized.
So to expect anything will come of an investigation into the origins of SARS-COV-2 is wishful thinking at best.
